December 07, 2018
Theme Cooking Masterclass - Brunch/Lunch on Thursday December 6 at 7pm, Scott Pickett's Cafe in Elizabeth Street, CBD
Venue Scott Pickett’s Café
Location 507 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne
Date Dec 07, 2018
Time 19:00

Hi to all of our IWFS Victoria members,

I am thrilled to let you know that there is still one more event for you to consider for this year.   Some of you may remember that we had attempted to hold a French bistro masterclass last year but the chef changed roles and it became too difficult.  Ok, he has now moved on and from a history of a 3 Michelin starred restaurant in New York, to head of functions at Vue de Monde, our member Michael Gelinas has now moved to the Scott Pickett group (we loved eating at ESP) and is now in charge of Scott Pickett’s Café in Elizabeth Street in the CBD.

We are now presenting a masterclass for a gourmet lunch/brunch on Thursday December 6 in 12 days’ time.   I ate there last week and it was simply magnificent.  So please come along – Michael is returning to Canada before Christmas so this is his last hoorah.

We will enjoy eating and see a demonstration with recipes of the following:

  • Chicken liver parfait, brioche pain perdu, pear and rocket salad (I adored this dish)
  • Cured king salmon, shiso crepe with egg and pea shoots, crispy skin and roe (very special dish)
  • Prawn Benedict, crumpet, roast tomato, egg, béarnaise (you have to see this dish!!)
  • Mr P’s house made bacon and egg roll, brown sauce (the staff feast on this every day)
  • Kangaroo hot dog, Mr P’s brown sauce, caramelised onion, pickled chillies  - served with hand cut chips, chicken salt, and charred broccoli, crispy kale, almonds, sultanas, sesame vinaigrette
  • Belgian waffle, macerated strawberry, mascarpone

This is going to be a very special masterclass.  As usual, we will provide some gorgeous matching wines and you will have a fabulous meal.

When:

7pm on Thursday 6 December at Scott Pickett’s Café – 507 Elizabeth Street (close to the corner of Elizabeth St and Therry St, right across from the Victoria Market)

Cost:

$115 for members, $105 for Young Members, $125 for guests
