Please use this calendar to review Branch events, both those held in the past and for future events planned:

On November 2nd our branch enjoyed the first of what we plan will become a regular feature of our annual calendar - an informal luncheon at the Millrace Gastro Pub near Ross on Wye.in Herefordshire  . The format was simple - all our members were invited to come along at midday  , to bring guests and to select their lunch from the the full or daily menu .  You could choose as many courses and wines as you wished and everyone was responsible for their own account.  The Millrace has gained a reputation as a superb gastropub that offers imaginative interpretations of traditional  'pub' meals but which specialises in game dishes - particularly at this time of the year.: Game Pie and Wild Mallard featured this week.   The wine list is extensive and each week they recommend  half a dozen  'house' wines which have been selected to accompany the daily 'specials' on the menu.   Over half our members joined us and we had several guests.  The owner - Lyn Bourgaize - made us very welcome and I am sure we will return to the Millrace in the future.  This concept of an informal ' pay as you go'  event is new to our branch and was welcomed by all .  We will try it again , possibly as a pre theatre supper next time .  As it was the first time we have tried  this format the branch offered a drink on arrival for everyone and that was certainly popular !
