The Wine & Food Society of Jacksonville opened up its official season with our take on "Open that Bottle Night" - renaming it "50 Shades of Grape." Every couple was asked to bring 2 botttles of the same wine which were "blindfolded" (brown bagged) and placed at appropriate stations throughout the home of Dwelvin Simmons and Alisia Martin. Only Kathy Kallaus, Secretary, knew the identity of the wines. Guests were given rating cards so they could make their own comments and rate the wine. At the end of the evening the wines were revealed and prizes awarded. Three bottles of wine, wine hats and othe fun items were given to the 3 tied winners. Those were the 2010 Pazo de Senorans Albarino, 2009 Winegut Beger Zweigelt, and the Pride Merlot. Dwelvin & Alisia also brought in a local decorator to carry out the theme.
