The April dinner was in honor of Dr. Albert Medwid, a retired surgeon and a charter member of the Santa Barbara Branch of the International Wine and Food Society, who was awarded a Silver Medal from the IWFS. As an active governor, whose duties included recommending and approving new members, finding venues for our dinners, choosing wines for our cellar, and frequently acting as dinner chairman, he has faithfully served to keep our branch a viable one. The citation accompanying the Silver Medal reads:
